Understanding Learning Styles Foundation

Dr. Jan Bedell • 6 February 2022

There is a philosophy of teaching to your child's specific learning style that has become very popular over the past decade.  In this week’s Brain Coach Tips, Dr. Jan asks you to think differently as teaching to one learning style leaves a child with challenges to get informaton efficiently.  The NeuroDevelopmental Approach promotes the idea that it is best to have brain efficiency in all areas of learning.  The reason for this is common sense when you really take a look at it.  There is certain information that can only come in one sensory area or is best coming in that specific sensory channel. Take a sunset for instance.  You can’t touch it or hear it so that information must come in through the visual channel.  Help your child to be a better-rounded learner by developing all the learning channels.
